Emily graduated from UCSB in 2013 with a B.S in environmental studies and concentration in geography. While at UCSB, she interned for two summers with the NASA DEVELOP National Program at Ames Research Center, and conducted her senior thesis on quantifying the external costs of coal and relating them to UCSB's investment policy. After graduating, she worked for the California Student Sustainability Coalition as a Campaign Director for Fossil Free, and continues her involvement with climate activism. Her focus is on climate justice, and her research interests are in the interdisciplinary study of climate science, social science, and policy.
